I thought it would be worth mentioning, since it's been close to three months, that I am not dead. No, rather, busy, with a variety of things including but not limited to: parenting, sleeping, eating, working and trying not to be stressed. There have been, admittedly, many times that I had considered just throwing blurb one liners up here, but for some reason didn't. Could have been sloth, could have been anything. Indifference mostly, I guess. At any rate, I may post more, I may not. Check periodically and find out is the best I can suggest.

It's been a while, has it not? Not that there will be much of substance here, and now, but this is just one of those "No, I haven't died (yet)" type of things. I've been busy. Stuff around the house, stuff at work, trying to get my life in order. Time consuming things, when you get right down to it.

Of note, two things, the first being that people are still stupid. I've found that they do it with alarming tendency when operating a motor vehicle. I can't claim to be absolutely free of blame in that respect, but it seems that I am a stupid driver magnet.

The second is that, about two weeks ago, the city and county signed off on the Destiny USA project (note: this link is differnt from the one below), construction being slated to start sometime in April to early May at the latest. I can hardly contain my enthusiam.

Anyway, things to do. More at some point in the future - sooner rather than later, I hope

Hello again. Sorry there's been no update, but things are still rather hectic. Anyway, some people are dumb. Really dumb. Go here and read all about it.

Well, hello. It's a brief break from the action as I shift tasks, so a couple of news tidbits and a note.

Tidbit one is that the Clinton's (ex President Bill and current Senator cum Impolitic Bitch Hillary) dog Buddy has died. He was hit by a car, but all the details aren't in. I mention this because while I could give a rat's ass about the Clintons (even though I voted for Hillary) I'm an animal person, and any such loss saddens me.

Tidbit two is that the Onondoga County Legislature approved the new and expanded tax breaks the Pyramid company is looking for to allow it's DestiNY USA project to move forward. The project is an expansion of the current Carousel mall that would include 4000 hotel rooms, 3.2 million more square feet of mall space, facades derived from historic buildings in the State of New York to disguise parking garages and a 65 acre park on the roof of the expansion that includes a nine hole golf course, an amphitheatre with 10 to 15 thousand seats, two athletic fields and a butterfly garden. There's other stuff as well that I don't remember right now. I'm of mixed feelings about the whole thing, and ultimately I think the City Council will also approve the tax breaks, if only because they don't want to miss the chance to grab the grail.

The note is that I tried doing an update Tuesday evening catching up on the holidays, but through some inadvertant mouse clicks I lost the damn thing and didn't feel like retyping it then and there, despite my comfy spot on the couch in front of the fire - Wireless networks rock! Anyway, I'll see if I can't get around to it this weekend.

I'm sorry I haven't been a little more regular about updating, but I was busy for a little while, and then saw my doctor last Friday (12/7). She gave me some meds for the depression, but they've made me somewhat drowsy, and I've been spending my of my free time sleeping. Supposedly it's an adjustment period of a week or two, and then things get better. I hope, as I was having issues with being a functional human being before. I still am now, although the issues have changed.

Also, a festive Holiday banner up top. It's red and green, which are the traditional Christmas colors. No offense intended to those who keep other year end observances, but I'm a Christmas kind of guy.

Read this, then be afraid. Maybe even be very afraid. I am.

Four posts in one day! A veritable cornucopia, I tell you. Anyway, on to business. Here's a link to the official website of that Segway dodamus I mentioned earlier. They have a movie clip, which is worth watching. It's a neat gadget, that's for darn sure.

In other areas, I had lunch today, which in and of itself isn't all that remarkable. What was remarkable was that I had with someone with whom I have not spoken in nearly two and a half years. Someone whom I parted with on less than good terms. He called me last night, which was a bit of a shock, and we did lunch. It was a productive thing, in terms of trying to pick up where we left off. It was also a little odd, a bit like a blind date maybe. After all, life's experiences don't generally include such events, and it leaves you wanting for a frame of reference in which to place the event so as to make sense of it and digest it.

If you're a fan of the film Resevoir Dogs, here's something that you should like. It's one of those "Which one are you" tests, designed to let you know which color of dog you'd be. My results below.

I think I may have written about Dean Kamen's upcoming product Ginger in my old journal, I don't reall for sure. Anyway, Ginger's being revealed today under it's formal product name Segway. It sounds incredibly cool.

Couple of things:

Firstly, I've finally gotten around to uploading the splash page for www.magichelmet.org, which would be my (and my family's) defacto home page. It's been a while, but hey, there it is. Nothing else to really look at yet, as the sub pages aren't done.

Secondly, I went to the store last night. Nothing out of the ordinary about that, except that I went to PriceChopper, a store I don't normally frequent. Anyway, they have there those "U-scan" stations, where you scan your own groceries and pay the cashier up front at a central station. I decided to try it, thinking, hey, no line, and I've only got two items. What a pain in the ass. I suppose part of it was just that it was my first time - you know, being a self scan virgin and all - but I think I'll stick to more convential means of checking out and avoid any more potentially embarassing situations because I don't know what I'm doing.
